After seeing Shaunak thanking Manju, Shaunak's mother discusses her with Pankaj. Pankaj tricks Manju into believing that Shaunak has called her. When Manju goes to Shaunak, they discuss their feelings about losing a scholarship and other ambitions in life. Shaunak tells Manju that Devyani would never get what she wants in life. Pankaj makes sure that Shaunak's mother listens to their conversation. Later, Shaunak's mother calls up Manju's mother to ask her to get Manju married as soon as possible.
