Right from her childhood, Avika has heard the word dowry. Avika feels neglected as her desires are sacrificed one after the other. The day has come when Avika has to see her bridegroom, a well to do man chosen by her father. Meanwhile, Vinay, Avika's brother, has quit his job to start his own company. Vinay is assured by his father that the capital needed to start the business will be given by him. During a visit by the bridegroom's family, Avika asks for a dowry from her own father.
